Okay, here are ten opening sentences for your new novel

It was a dark and dreary night………………

From time immemorial……………………….

He was dead; there was no doubt about it……………

The lake looked calm but I sensed a presence under the water that wasn’t calm…………

My mother baked cookies on Saturdays and left a few on my pillow……………..

It had to be Rona. She festered like the top of a boil opening…………….

The leaves were falling off the trees like feathers from a plucked chicken………

The woods were dark and deep and I didn’t have a flashlight…………..

Her skin was soft to the touch but her eyes were hard………………..

The dog barked for no reason but I knew something was hiding outside……………..

(Okay, you have the first sentence, now write the rest of the book. Given any of these openings sentence you can have it done in a few days and probably published somewhere and put on Walmart or Target bookshelves. Then you can use another opening sentence here for your second book>)
